Crowdsourcing's Role in Media and Marketing at SXSW 2012

 

SXSW CrowdsourcingHelp send our presentation about crowdsourced storytelling to SXSW! and its role in digital media at large and brand marketing.

We've submitted our proposal and now we need your vote to help get us to Austin next March. 

The public voting period for SXSW events began last Monday through SXSW's PanelPicker and ends Friday, August 31st. Public votes carry one-third of the weight in SXSW organizers selection of which proposed sessions will make the final agenda.  With over 3,200 total proposals submitted, we need all the help we can get to rise above the stiff competition and elevate the conversation around the role of crowdsourcing in the digital media landscape.

We’ve heard it so many times: storytelling is key to earning and keeping the attention of today’s audiences in a fragmented media landscape. But can you rely on the creative crowd to tell your brand’s story? Join us for a discussion on the role of crowdsourced content in digital media and when it should and shouldn’t be added to a brand’s marketing mix. Our session will highlight examples from the good, the bad and the ugly and profile one instance where we've felt crowdsourcing helped a campaign knock it out of the park. And we'll consider crowdsourcing from the contributors' point of view to determine what brands should know before they launch.
